Working and Caring – Polish Regulations in the Context of Demographic Changes

Abstract

This paper focuses on the problem of combining employment with care of dependent relatives, either children or the elderly, faced by people of working age. It highlights the importance of providing instruments to support working carers in their efforts to balance their professional and caring roles. This study analyses the Polish legislation regarding the reconciliation of work and family life. A significant part of the paper includes de lege ferenda proposals for combining a professional career with care of an elderly family member.
