David Lewis

Abstract

This paper is concerned with the EU Directive on the Protection of Whistleblowers
(Directive (EU) 2019/1937). Contrasting the contents of the Directive with
whistleblowing regulation worldwide, the positive and negative aspects of this provision are highlighted. The paper concludes by putting forward suggestions for the transposition of the Directive into Member States’ legislation, in order to harmonise national rules with international best practices.
