Abstract
This paper explores the issue of in-work poverty and the gender wage gap in South Africa, particularly focusing on the challenges faced by women in the workforce. The purpose of this study is to analysis the impact of the minimum wage on female employees and in-work poverty. Despite being employed, women are more likely to live in poverty compared to men due to factors such as undervaluation of women's work, occupational segregation, and the prevalence of low-wage and informal employment.
