Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to present and analyse the fundamental issues related to the process of the deregulation of professions. As this process is closely related to the recognition of professional qualifications, the paper also gives an overview regarding the fundamental legal issues in this field. As countries should approach the deregulation of professions systematically, the core of this paper are the recommendations for an appropriate approach to this process.
