Identifying Digital Active Ageing Policies in the EU: The Case of Italy

Abstract

Ageing is one of the key social and economic challenges facing Europe in the 21st century. Since the 1990s, the EU has promoted active ageing policies to enhance the role of older people in society. As the digital transition reshapes the world of work, identifying effective tools for the inclusion of older workers is crucial. While digitalisation is often viewed as a barrier for this group, due to perceived inflexibility and limited digital skills, a closer look reveals that certain technologies can support rather than hinder older workers’ participation in the labour market.
