Abstract
Despite the current low rates of unemployment displayed in the Portuguese labour market, youth unemployment still presents concerning figures. Having this in mind, this contribution delves into the array of instruments whose purpose is to facilitate the entrance of younger workers into the labour market, such as work by minors, traineeships (namely, student or extracurricular (professional) traineeships), and even economic incentives directed both at workers and employers. This Article explores the main features of these several mechanisms with the intention of ascertaining their adequacy towards that goal.
