Resumen
El Convenio OIT núm. 184, que comprende el objeto de estudio del presente trabajo, aborda la prevención y protección de la seguridad y salud en el ámbito específico de la agricultura. Sus principios se sustentan, ineludiblemente, en los contenidos más amplios establecidos en la materia por otros instrumentos jurídicos precedentes de la OIT, sin embargo, su aprobación responde al propósito de adoptar un enfoque coherente y específico para el preciso sector productivo agrícola. Su propuestas reguladoras se organizan en torno a tres aspectos fundamentales: la delimitación del ámbito de aplicación del Convenio a partir del término agricultura, la identificación la propuesta de concretas medidas de prevención y protección de los trabajadores en cuanto al manejo de maquinaria, transporte de materiales y animales, y gestión de productos químicos, y finalmente la especial referencia a los trabajadores jóvenes, temporales y trabajadoras.
ILO Convention No. 184, which includes the object of study of this work, addresses the prevention and protection of safety and health in the specific field of agriculture. Its principles are based, inescapably, on the broader contents established in the matter by other previous legal instruments of the ILO, however, its approval responds to the purpose of adopting a coherent and specific approach for the precise agricultural production sector. Its regulatory proposals are organized around three fundamental aspects: the delimitation of the application scope of the Agreement starting from the agriculture term, the proposal of concrete measures of prevention and protection of the workers regarding the machinery handling, transport of materials and animals, and chemical products management, and finally the special reference to young, temporary and hardworking workers.
