El reconocimiento de la compatibilidad entre pensión por incapacidad permanente y rentas del trabajo es uno de los mecanismos para garantizar la integración laboral de las personas en situación de incapacidad permanente. En la actualidad se regula un régimen de compatibilidad casi pleno, que permite a los beneficiarios de pensiones por incapacidad permanente cobrar pensión reconocida conforme a las normas de Seguridad Social y la retribución por el trabajo prestado. Teniendo en cuenta la situación financiera actual del sistema de Seguridad Social, el vigente régimen de compatibilidad plantea un interesante debate acerca de la necesidad de su revisión para garantizar la sostenibilidad del sistema.
The recognition of compatibility between a permanent disability pension and income from work is one of the mechanisms for guaranteeing the integration into the labour market of people who are permanently disabled. At present, an almost full compatibility regime is regulated, which allows beneficiaries of permanent incapacity pensions to receive a pension recognized under social security rules and remuneration for work performed. Given the current financial situation of the social security system, the actual compatibility legal regime raises an interesting debate about the need for its revision to ensure the sustainability of the system.
