Resumen
El progresivo crecimiento de la desigualdad, que afecta a la mayoría de los países la UE, se vincula a la regresión de las condiciones de trabajo y a la insuficiente respuesta de los sistemas de protección social. La crisis provocada por la Covid-19 ha evidenciado limitaciones estructurales que no desaparecerán con la superación de la pandemia. En España, el ingreso mínimo vital (IMV) ha sido calificado como un hito histórico que equilibra la configuración del sistema de seguridad social y extiende su ámbito de protección. Desde la perspectiva jurídica, entre otras novedades, el diseño del IMV apunta hacia la creación de un nuevo marco de relaciones entre el trabajo y la protección social no contributiva aún por construir.
The progressive growth of inequality, which affects most of the EU countries, is linked to the negative evolution of working conditions and the insufficient response of social protection systems. The Covid-19 crisis has shown structural limitations that will not disappear with the overcoming of the pandemic. In Spain, ingreso mínimo vital(IMV)has been described as a historical milestone that balances the configuration of the social security system and extends its scope of protection. From the legal perspective, the design of the IMV tests a new framework of relations between work and non-contributory social protection that has yet to be built.
